Project details

Initial situation

We were missing a stable assembly and sawing trestle in the workshop for recurring tasks. Space was limited, so we needed a compact design. The support surface had to be wide enough for safe crosscutting and for temporarily placing material.

Execution

We cut the solid-timber parts to size and marked out the joints. We made the support and legs with simple timber joints and screwed them together. We added bracing with cross members and diagonals to increase stability. We fastened everything with wood screws, deburred the edges, and aligned the bearing surfaces.

Result

We built a robust assembly trestle with a load-bearing support surface and good tip stability. It works as a sawhorse, assembly aid, and storage surface in the workshop. It is quickly available and easy to repair and adapt thanks to the simple timber construction.

Workshop frame from leftover wood

A screwed solid-timber trestle is a good choice when we need a load-bearing auxiliary frame in a short time and with minimal space requirements.
