Project details

Initial situation

In this WC, the old cistern was replaced by a concealed cistern. The client explicitly wanted to avoid opening or demolishing the existing wall. So the solution had to be a clean front-wall build-up that stays protected against humidity and moisture in a bathroom environment.

Execution

We built a new front-wall construction in front of the existing wall and clad it with tongue-and-groove timber (paneling). We applied a multi-coat protective finish to the timber surfaces for better long-term resistance in humid bathroom conditions. We also integrated practical small shelves and usable surfaces for everyday bathroom use.

Result

The new concealed cistern is cleanly integrated without opening the existing wall. The cladding is robust, easy to maintain and protected for daily bathroom humidity exposure. Integrated shelves add useful storage and practical surface space in the WC area.

Front wall instead of opening the existing wall

If the existing wall should remain untouched, a properly built front wall with coated timber cladding is often the most practical and cost-effective solution.
