Our timber construction company is based in Alt St. Johann. We design and build single, double and multi-bay timber carports in the Rhine Valley, throughout the canton of St. Gallen and in Liechtenstein, including structural design, permit documents, prefabrication, installation and drainage.

Process
- Measurement & design: Access, parking bays, post positions and junctions with the existing building are checked on site before design starts.
- Structure & permits: Spans, snow and wind loads, and the documents needed for approval are clarified early.
- Prefabrication: The timber frame, roof build-up and junction details are prepared so on-site work stays short and controlled.
- Installation & drainage: Foundations, timber structure, roof covering, gutter and downpipe are installed as one finished solution.
Common questions
Does a carport also protect against hail?
A carport can reduce direct hail exposure to the vehicle. Protection depends on the roof covering, its condition, dimensions and wind direction; an open shelter cannot provide complete protection. We discuss a suitable roof covering for the site. We only state a hail resistance rating when it is documented for the selected product.
What does the price depend on?
Size, roof material, foundations and details. After measuring we provide a clear offer.
Do I need a permit?
Often yes, depending on municipality and size. We help clarify.
How long does installation take?
Depending on size, usually 1–3 days. We plan so access stays usable.
What is the difference between a carport and a garage?
A carport is open and protects vehicles from rain, snow and sun. A garage is enclosed and also needs walls and a garage door.
Are large carport spans without center posts possible?
Yes. Depending on structural requirements and existing conditions, we design carports to keep the parking area as open as possible.
Is trapezoid sheet roofing a good fit for a carport?
Usually yes: durable, cost-effective and reliable when drainage details are done correctly.
